Pest Control

Mouse & Rat Control

Producers may obtain a limited amount of products for pest control, including Warfarin, Weatherblok and Ratak. Please contact the RM of Lumsden Public Works to arrange a time that you can pick up the products at the RM Shop (located a half-mile east of Highway No. 54, on Highway No. 11, north side).

Inspections of yard sites are preformed annually by the municipally appointed Pest Control Officer (PCO). These inspections are done as a part of the SARM Provincial Rat Eradication Program (PREP). The PCO may choose to provide you with pest control products at no charge. Inspections typically take place in the summer/fall.

Strychnine

On March 30th the federal government approved the use of Strychnine in Saskatchewan (under strict conditions). The Federal Government has mandated training for distributers and users. We do not have Strychnine in stock at this time, however we hope to have Strychnine available for the July 15-September 1st kill window. If you plan to purchase Strychnine from the RM, you will be required to show proof that you have completed the mandatory training at the time of purchase.
