Candidate Information:

Andrew Kaytor (for Councillor, Division No. 3)

With your support, I look forward to serving as Councillor of Division 3 in the RM of Lumsden.

As Councillor, I promise to leverage my strong ethical values, experience as a small business owner and past experience in management positions at both federal & provincial government to advocate on behalf of the people that call Lumsden their home. To always be present, to listen to your concerns and ensure your voice is heard.

My wife Shannon and our three children have proudly called Lumsden our home for the past 15 years. It is in the town of Lumsden that we own & operate a family run business that has become a staple in the community.

When we began development on our acreage in the RM of Lumsden, I learned firsthand how important the role of a Councillor is as a representative of the people who live and work here - a bridge between the community and the administration. I appreciate the work of the past and current council and the diligence it takes to sustain communities like ours.

I strongly believe in transparency, accountability and fairness within municipal government. I plan to bring a fresh perspective to the table that will foster positive working relationships among Council, Administration and the people who call Lumsden home.

On November 13, I ask for your support and allow me to work for you to build a brighter future for Lumsden.

Sincerely,

Andrew Kaytor

Trent Catley (for Councillor, Division No. 5)

As a fifth-generation municipal resident I have a long history and connection with the community. I have been a local 4H leader, coach for various Lumsden sports teams, current member of Craven and District ELKS, treasurer for St Nicholas Kennell Church, past president of Kennell snowplow club and volunteer for various other community activities. I would like to continue supporting the community by running for Municipal council.

I recently retired from a 35-year career with the Saskatchewan Government, where I worked with all three levels of government and gained a thorough understanding of the roles and responsibilities of municipalities. As a municipal resident for 45+ years and farmer, I know the needs of its residents.

All of these experiences will greatly assist me if given the opportunity to represent Division 5. I will be open, honest and always approachable. Thank-you for your consideration.

Aaron Saufert (for Councillor, Division No. 5)

I am a dedicated community leader with deep ties to our region, having lived here for 14 years. With a strong educational background, I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Economics and an MBA, equipping me with a unique blend of skills to address the challenges our RM faces.

My experience as a policy analyst along with my education in agricultural economics gives me a deep understanding of the vital role farming and rural development play in our local economy. Additionally, my studies in an MBA program has helped provide me with a solid foundation in business management, finance, and strategic planning. This skill set will enable me to work effectively to improve local infrastructure, attract investment, and create economic opportunities in the district. My focus on fiscal responsibility and economic growth will ensure that resources are allocated efficiently to benefit all constituents.

As someone who has lived in the community for over a decade, I am deeply invested in its future. I am actively involved in local organizations, committed to listening to the concerns of residents, and working to find practical solutions. Committed to transparency, accountability, and progress, I am ready to serve the community with a focus on economic development and infrastructure improvements.

Vote for Aaron Saufert for a stronger, more prosperous future!

Cody Garbutt (for Reeve)

For the past seven years I have served the RM of Lumsden as the Division 3 councillor. I believe RM council should always be there for ratepayers and residents, approaching concerns and problems with solution thinking, while keeping our constituents top of mind. These beliefs undergird my principals of listening to the people I serve and being available, open, honest, accountable, and action oriented.

Over my time as Division 3 Councillor, I’ve grown as a person, gaining experience and knowledge. Professionally, I’m a Hydrometric Technologist with Environment and Climate Change Canada, and bring 16 years of knowledge and experience dealing with environmental issues and projects related to Saskatchewan waterways. I also provide extra farm help when needed to my father-in-law and uncle, Bruce and Jim Hipkin.

I’ve lived in the RM of Lumsden on an acreage close to my wife Jennifer’s family farm for 12 years. We chose to raise our family in a rural environment. We have two children, Hunter and Heidi and are involved parents in their 4-H beef club, baseball, curling and dance activities.

As your Reeve, I will be the same listening, open, honest, available, accountable, solution-oriented leader, working with all elected members of council on your behalf, just as I have strived to be over the last seven years as Councillor.

I’m committed to leading and supporting the RM of Lumsden in being a place where people are happy to live, where businesses want to put their roots down and where agriculture can thrive.

John Langford (for Reeve)

I am asking for your support in the upcoming municipal election as Reeve. I have served eight years as Councillor of Division 5 and served on all the committees, except for Public Works. I am semi-retired and have the time to devote to the job of Reeve, which requires a significant time commitment to keep abreast of running the RM.

I have lived in Division 5 all my adult life, have been market gardening for much of that time and still make hay in the summer months. I have served on many boards locally and see many ratepayers in the execution of municipal duties.

The RM is on a sound financial footing and I am committed to stay on that path. At the same time, I'm willing to entertain new ideas for the future development of the RM and maintain a good quality of life for our RM.
